Yesterday the Pistons again beat up on a bad team. They beat the Hawks 105-83. This was a good game because they played a complete game. They started off good and never allowed Atlanta to get back into it. Chauncey Billups had 20 points. Darko's 12 minutes were the most of his career. He had 2 points,4 rebounds, and 5 fouls. The Pistons have now won 3 games in a row.

ROBERT LANG A REDWING!!
Today was a huge day for the Redwings. They traded for Robert Lang, who is tied for the most points in the league! He has 29 goals and 45 assists. All they gave up was Thomas Fleischmann and 2 draft picks! Lang is the second year of his 5 year 25 million dollar deal. Lang's season has been the best of his career. He is a really good player and I can't wait till he comes on the ice. This is just another incredible deal for Ken Holland to make. GO WINGS!!!!!!!!
Wings Game
Yesterday the Wings beat the Flames 2-1. Manny Legace played great again stopping 33/34 shots. Ray Whitney scored his 12th goal of the year. Steve Thomas scored the great game winning goal. Both goals were assisted by Pavel Datsyuk. The Flames' goalie Miikka Kiprusoff has the best G.A.A and the best Save Percentage in the NHL. This was a big win for the Wings. They finished 1-1-1 on this road trip.

A good Piston's win
The Pistons had a very good win last night beating the Bulls 107-88. Yes it was only the Bulls, but they played a very good road game. They also didn't allow the Bulls too make a comeback. Richard H. had a game high with 21 points. Rasheed Wallace had another good game with 15 points,7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Even Darko pitched in with 6 points and a block. I think the Pistons are finally going to get back on track and win some games. They have won 2 in a row after losing 8/9 games.

Michigan vs. MSU
Last night the Wolverines lost a heart breaker to the Spartans in NCAA basketball. The Wolverines lost 72-69 but they played great. In the first half they played almost perfectly. In the second half they were up by 12 and it looked like they would get the win,but MSU came up with a big run. They hit a bunch of important 3 points and basically closed out the game. I have to give MSU credit because they made a great comeback. Now the Wolverines must win out if they want any chance of making the big dance.
Redwings lose to Canucks
Yesterday the Wings lost to the Canucks 4-2. Daniel Sedin scored all four goals for the Canucks! Henrik Zetterberg scored his 12th goal of the year, and Kris Draper added his 24th goal of the year. This was the Wings first loss in 5 games. They are now 35-17-9-2 on the season and have 81 points.

Redwings game
The Wings tied the Oilers last night 1-1. Marc Lamothe played great in his first game stopping 29 out of 30 shots. The only goal for the Wings was by Nick Lidstrom. It has Lidstrom's 7th goal of the season. The Wings are now unbeaten in their last 4 games and have a 12 point lead in their conference.
Wolverines basketball
Two days ago the Michigan Wolverine's basketball team won their biggest game of the year. They soundly beat the 12th ranked Wisconsin Badgers by 11 points at Chrysler Arena. This was by far the best they have played all year. Now the Wolverines chances of making the big dance have improved greatly.
Pistons win a game
Last night the pistons finally won a game. They beat the Sixers 76-66. They played good defense all game but they almost lost it at the end. Ben Wallace had 12 points,13 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Rasheed Wallace had 10 points,11 rebounds, and 4 blocks. This was a great win for the Pistons who were looking to get off the snive.

Another horrible Piston's loss
The Pistons lost last night to the Orlando Magic. It was horrible to lose to the worst team in the league at home. And another horrible thing is that T-Mac had only 19 points. The Pistons again didn't play that good all game. Near the end of the game they took a 2 point lead. They stopped the Magic and got the ball with 10 seconds left. All they had too do was get fouled and make the free throws too win the game. Well on the inbound pass Orlando stole the ball and with 2 seconds left Howard made a layup AND got fouled. He made the freethrow and the game was over. This was a terrible way to lose a game.
Other notes-Rasheed Wallace had 11 points and 7 rebounds. The Pistons play the Sixers tonight at 7:00 p.m.

Another Pistons loss in Rasheed's debut
The Pistons lost last night to the Timberwolves by one point. At the end of the game they were down by 3, and Tayshaun Prince tried a three pointer. He missed but Ben Wallace tapped it right back in. Then with one second left Darvin Ham's inbound pass was stolen and the game was over. Rasheed Wallace had 4 points and 2 rebounds in his debut but he only played the first half because the Hawks didn't finish the paperwork to the league in time. That is why Rasheed and Mike James didn't play in the second half. Their next game is Sunday and I can't wait to see Rasheed play a whole game.

Rasheed Wallace is a Piston!
Great news for the Pistons today. They acquired Rasheed Wallace and Mike James from the Hawks in a three team trade. The Pistons gave up Chucky Atkins,Zeljko Rebraca,Lindsey Hunter, and Bobby Sura. They also gave up some draft picks and cash. This is a great deal for the Pistons who where looking for some instant scoring and a way to get them over the hump in the East. Mike James is a decent gaurd who averages 10 points a game in his third season. This was another great deal for Joe Dumars to make. I can't wait to see Rasheed on the floor and I hope Ben Wallace will keep him in line with the refs and coaches.

Rasheed Wallace a piston?, another loss to the knicks.
Big news on the Piston's front. It sounds like Rasheed Wallace is going to become a Piston! Joe Dumars said tonight that it might not happen, but I think it probably will take place. The pistons would most likely give up Bob Sura, Zelly,L. Hunter,Darvin Ham, and Jermaine F. This would be a great deal for the Pistons who are looking for some instant scoring. They also wouldn't have to give up any of their core players. This deal also brings some toughness to the Pistons who have been lacking that bad boy instinct since the early 90's.
Despite the big trade rumors the Pistons still had to play a game against the Knicks tonight. They were down most of the game and at the near the end took the lead. Then New York made 2 big three pointers and closed out the game. After their 5 straight loss, I now know that if the Wallace trade doesn't happen then they have to make some sort of big deal to get them over the hump.

Greg Maddux
Yesterday night a radio station in New York said that Maddux was going to sign with the "evil" New York Yankees. Now a radio station in Atlanta reports that he will sign with the Cubs. I hope he signs with the Cubs so the Yanks won't get another hall of fame player. I have a feeling though he will still sign with the Yankees despite what we are hearing
(but I hope I am wrong).

the wings game
Last night wings won 2-1 against the Oilers. Legace stopped 29 shots and Mathieu Schneider scored the game winning goal. The other goal was scored by Kris Draper.

A-rod
Today the deal was made official, A-rod was traded to the Yankees for Alfonso Soriano and a player to be named. The Rangers will pick up 90 million dollars of the deal. Now both teams are happy and the Red Sox keep thinking of what could have been.
All star weekend
The allstar weekend was fun to watch. The pistons were well represented. Even though Chauncey came in last at the 3 point contest, Tayshaun Prince and Ben W. had good performances. Prince had 18 points(made his first 5 shots) and his team won in the rookie challenge. In the allstar game itself Ben W. had 4 points,7 reb., and 3 steals. The east lost 136-132, and Shaq was the mvp. Now that the allstar game is over hopefully the pistons can come out and win some games. The next 3 are tough but the 7 after that are against sub-par teams.

Chauncey Billups-to be traded?
On tv last night there was a rumor that Chauncy Billups might be traded before the trade deadline. Rumors probably going strong because of Chauncey's aweful .383 shooting percentage and that him and Larry Brown don't get along with eachother. If he is traded I have no clue to who it would be for. The pistons will probably go for a guy who can give them instant scoring. This would be big news if he was traded, but I don't think he will be. If he is traded he might be going out with Corliss W. or Bob Sura.
Wings-Avs game
Yesterday the wings lost too the aves 5-2. Legace was in goal and played a lot better than what the score said. Yzerman scored on a nice goal from a great pass from Shanny. The second goal was by Jiri F. People get so hiped up about these games they don't realize even what they mean. Don't get me wrong these games with the aves are fun to watch but it is the ones in the playoffs that matter. I remember one year the wings swept the aves in the regular season then they beat us in the playoffs. People need to cool down in the regular season and wait until the real hockey comes(the playoffs).

A ROD TO THE YANKS
Although I try to keep my site limited to just detroit this story was just too good to pass up. After a few failed tries of A Rod being traded to the redsox it now appears that he is going to land with the yankees, the redsox biggest rival. He is going to be traded for Alfonso Soriano and a minor leaguer. As of late saturday night the deal was not official but it will probably go down. With Jeter at shortstop A rod would play third base and the yankees would probably get rid of the already injured aaron boone. No word yet on who will eat most of A-rod's 252 million dollar contract

Nba allstar week
This weekend the nba allstar game will be on. But I like 2 other events that are on. The Slam Dunk competition and the 3 point contest. These are both very fun events to watch. This year in the 3 point contest Chauncey B. will represent the pistons. In the Allstar game itself the pistons are represented by big BEN WALLACE. It should be a fun weekend, and I hope the pistons can rest up and get off this 4 game losing streak.

Detroit tiger's offseason
This season the detroit tigers have made some incredible acquisitions. I have been so amazed how Mike I. has finally used some of his money to get some good players. They acqiured Fernando Vina a very good defensive shortstop ,Carlos G. a good hitter and fielder, Jason J. probably going to be their number one starter, and Al Levine a good middle relief man. But the player who has been the biggest signing, of course, is Ivan"Pudge"Rodriguez. He is their biggest free agent signing in the club's history. He brings leadership and puts people in the seats. Now many people don't realize that their second biggest signing was Rondell White. He had incredible stats for how little money the tigers signed him for. He had 22 home runs and 85 rbi. last year. For the tigers that would have been their second best hitter behide Dimitri Young last season. This is going to be a fun year for the tigers, but I don't expect them to contend for the division title just yet. They are 1 year away I think. They will be much improved from last year and I'm expecting them to win around 68-75 games. Hopefully I'm wrong and they can contend for the title in the weak division they are in. All I can say is that I can't wait for opening day.
Basketball
The wolverines lost a heartbreaking game last night to Minnesota. They were up by about 12 and at the end they lost by 3. A very very bad game to give up.
Cujo
Curtis Joseph is out for at least a week due to a sprained ankle. The wings have brought up a goalie from the minors. I don't know much about him but his name is Marc Lamothe.(Matt G. tipped me off on his name.)

redwings
Last night the wings beat the sharks 4-2. Steve Yzerman had 2 goals after coming back from that brutal face injury. Kirk M. and Holstrom had the other 2 goals. For a lot more on the wings go to my friends at www.onthewings.blogspot.com .
sports
The pistons lost again tonight to the kings. Peja S. made the gamewinning shot to win the game at the end. This was another disipointing lose.
Good game on
Tonight there are 3 good games on in the detroit area.
NCAA Basketball-Michigan@Minnesota
NBA-Pistons vs. Sac. Kings(upn 50)
NHL-Redwings vs. San Jose Sharks(foxsports net)

The spartans got killed last night by Illinois by over 20 points. I love seeing the spartans lose and they are now 12-9.
After losing again last night the pistons will probably be looking to make a trade. Possibile trade bate is Corliss W.,Bob Sura,or Chucky Atkins.
Tuesday, February 10, 2004
Tonight the pistons square off against the nets, one of the hottest teams in the league. The pistons have lost 3 straight and need to win this big road game to get back on track.
Breaking news for the detroit redwings today. Dominik Hasek retired again today. Reason for his retirement were that he couldn't shake his persistant groin injury. Now the wings number one goalie is Cujo once again
